Evaluation Plan: Question 1

In what ways does your media production use,

develop or challenge forms and conventions of

real media products?

Developing and Challenging Conventions:
How our teaser trailer is similar to other teaser trailers
How our teaser trailer is different to other teaser trailers
How it is different from a trailer
What is used to show the audience what type of media product it is
What makes it obvious that it is a teaser trailer rather than a drama?

Knowledge on conventions on all 3 media products: Developing conventions
Conventions of horror in poster and teaser trailer
How we showed horror through our magazine cover
Have we followed the conventions of horror throughout?
(Give examples, teaser trailers, posters, fonts, images, shot angles etc..)

Creation of products: Challenging conventions
Have we made it obvious what type of genre we are using?
Did we follow the conventions too much and made it predictable (We filmed in one place – Different? )
Have we tried to change it slightly to go against typical conventions?
Are our products interesting and exciting compared to others (use examples)
Or is some aspects boring and predictable (use examples of similar samples)
The reasons for challenging conventions (more original, interesting, appealing)
Or were the conventions not possible (resources not available e.g. prop, costume location)
Used a black actress which is unusual, show why we done this (give examples with Caucasian actors)
Originally planned to use Asian – Why we done this – Why we had to change it
Female killer – challenges conventions
Is there any other trailers or posters that challenge conventions
