We still had footage to be cut down so this time we used the final cut pro features to speed some of the footage up which would make the shots look snappier and meant that we could then cut the shots down which would help us get our footage to below 1minute in length. We wanted the footage to be less than 1 minute because we wanted to add captions in and we knew that these will take up more time and therefore tried to make our footage as concise as possible. We have now got our footage down to 51 seconds and we aim to leave up to 10 seconds for captions which we are still currently deciding on. We have also been using YouTube to research different special effects which can be used on final cut pro. We want to find horror effects for our trailer to make it look even scarier, so we are hoping to find tutorials to help us with this.

In today’s lesson we started to add our video clips onto final cut pro and rendered them. Before this we watched all our clips and decided which shots we were going to use and made sure we looked closely to make sure that they were in focus and that there was no extra things in there that were not needed for example we found one clip which had the leg from the pole of the light. When watching it we realised we had filmed the a few of the same shots a few times which came in useful as we then had a choice of the shots to use. So when we imported our footage we had a small discussion as a group on what shots we would use and made sure that the angles matched. Our footage was too long and had to be cut down, so we cut out the most unnecessary parts as we didn’t want to lose the story. We didn’t realise how much footage we had so following our storyboard we made sure we used the right shots in order, but we decided to add two still image shots to show the setting of the teaser trailer, so this will have to be added to our story board and shooting of script.
