The New Treatment
Due to difficulty regarding the filming and production of the teaser trailer of the film ‘No Signal’, Shock Media will now produce a teaser trailer for a new film development.
Working Title: “Institution”

Genre: Horror – Psychological/Gore
Teaser Trailer Length: We are aiming to make the teaser approximately 30 - 45 seconds, with 45 seconds being the most realistic target length for our teaser.
The teaser trailer will show the film’s hybrid horror genre. The film will consist of elements from both psychological horror as well as gore. The gory aspect of the horror will the bloody murders committed by the main character, and the psychological element of the film will be the motive for the murder, as well as the overall behaviour of the main character. However, in the teaser trailer, a majority of what will be displayed will be psychological horror, as gory content may not be appropriate for a teaser trailer being streamed on ‘Youtube’, which could be easily accessed by minors, so we will upload our teaser trailer in accordance to the YouTube “teen safety” policy.
Synopsis:
Years ago a young girl was institutionalised by the people she trusted most, and shunned by a town who deemed her as mad. Feeling betrayed and alone, she remained in the institution, in the same pyjamas that she was sent away with, and just her two teddy bears to accompany her.
Many years on and she has broken out of the institution. She is on a deadly rampage and is on her way back to the town that betrayed her. Anyone who crosses her path will be killed.
Target Audience
As this is a new idea, developed after we conducted research, it will be easier for us to make it appropriate for our target audience, in accordance to our audience research results. Our target audience is still 18-24year olds, and we will conduct further research in making our product appealing to them.
What we intend to do and how
We intend to change traditional horror conventions by casting a black female in the leading role as opposed to a Caucasian character. The main aim of our teaser is to give away as little as possible, so to do this will have little or no dialogue, quick cut editing and vague captions and we will do all of this using the equipment and software provided. (Canon EOS 7D Digital SLR Camera, Apple iMac OS X, and Final Cut Pro)
