Unedited Images (Raw Images) for the Film Poster & Magazine Front Cover

Film Poster Unedited Image

We have decided to use this image for our poster as we believe that this shot reflects the characters personality. The A-Symetrical image is not a typical convention used in a horror poster so knew we were breaking conventions by using this but we wanted our poster to have uniqueness. The fact that the character is staring into the teddy makes it look as if she is crazy, and the blood/props used also help to depict this. With only using one half of the characters body in the shot it shows that she may have another side which she keeps in the dark and only reveals at times. We done this deliberately to show continuity as in our traser trailer we have tried to show a sort of split personality. The lighting we used only lights up one half of the characters face, and it looks as if the other half that cannot be seen is going into the darkeness which is the effect we were aiming to create.
Magazine Front Cover Unedited Image

Through research into magazine posters I noticed that some main images that are used do not show the actors/actresses in role of their character, and do not use existing images from the movies. So when taking the pictures for our magazine we knew that we did not have to show the actress in role. However we did use the same props and costume so that we showed continuity and promoted the trailer/film further. We wanted our main image to stand out and attract audiences and therefore decided that our actress should look straight into the camera, so that the audience will believe that she is looking at them. As we were creating a magazine we had to leave space for the mast head and cover lines so therefore we were careful in the type of shot we used as we had to get the composition right for the magazine.
